Along with aphasia’s loss of language, right-side paralysis is also common, often impacting a person’s ability to safely drive. Recognizing the strain on family members attempting to hold a job or juggling increased responsibilities, the Aphasia Center has two transportation options:
Aphasia Center Mobility Van. Individuals may pay a per-ride or monthly fee for transportation to and from the Aphasia Center. The van fills quickly. Please call for space availability, schedule and rate details.
Mission Center Mobility Van. The Aphasia Center has partnered with Mission Center Adult Day Service to provide transportation to and from Odessa and some surrounding communities. Please call for space availability, schedule and rate details.
Aphasia Center members are welcome to bring their own lunches which can be stored in the fully functional kitchen. The Aphasia Center also contracts with Meals on Wheels to offer balanced, hot meals to Aphasia Center members. Meals are $4.25 per meal and must be ordered a month at a time. These meals are billed once a month along with Aphasia Center program fees.
